Delete your account

Option 1 — In-app (fastest)

1. Open the Citizenship Day Calculator app.
2. Sign in if you are signed out.
3. Tap Settings → Account → Delete account.
4. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint.
5. Read the consequences screen — it tells you exactly what will be deleted and what is retained for tax compliance.
6. Tap "Delete my account".

Your account and encrypted trip data are queued for deletion immediately and are fully removed from our servers within 30 days. You can sign out and uninstall the app straight after.

Option 2 — By email

If you no longer have the app installed, or your account is locked for any reason:

1. Send an email to [email protected] from the address tied to your Pro account.
2. Subject line: Delete my account.
3. Body: include any additional account identifier you remember (the platform you signed in with, the approximate date you subscribed). We do not need any sensitive document.

We acknowledge the request within one UK working day and complete the deletion within 30 days, in accordance with UK GDPR Article 17.

What gets deleted

• Your account record (email address, anonymous user ID).
• All end-to-end-encrypted trip data we hold for your account on api.citizenshipdaycalculator.com.
• Push notification tokens registered to your account at OneSignal.
• Subscription state record at RevenueCat (the receipt remains with Apple/Google).

What we retain and why

• Subscription and billing records are retained for 6 years to satisfy UK HMRC tax obligations under the Finance Act 1998 Schedule 18. These records contain transaction IDs and amounts; they do not contain payment card data, which Apple and Google handle.
• Opt-in crash logs already sent to Sentry are auto-deleted by Sentry after 90 days. We cannot accelerate deletion at Sentry below their retention floor.
• System logs at our hosting provider may retain access timestamps for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention. These logs do not contain personal data linked to your account beyond an IP address.

What happens to your subscription

Deleting your account in our system does not automatically cancel your Apple or Google subscription. To stop billing:

• iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Citizenship Day Calculator → Cancel Subscription.
• Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Citizenship Day Calculator → Cancel.
